Tasting Notes

Deep purple in color with a clear appearance. The teardrops fall quickly; the body feels medium-minus in weight on the palate. There is a noticeable contrast between visual and tactile sensations, making the wine somewhat tricky. To catch this trick, focus on the weight of the wine on the palate without the influence of alcohol, and observe the teardrops after swirling—they run in parallel. Alcohol just gives body more temporary and illusory.

On the nose, it shows primary notes of fresh blackberry and sour cherry. On the palate, black fruits dance with vanilla, though the vanilla remains one step back. This secondary character comes from the fermentation process. The alcohol level dominates the overall tasting profile, supporting tannins that feel slightly harsh and contributing to a stronger acidic structure. Also, I should confess taste yeast.

Patkara does not naturally have a sharp character; it is dainty. Here, the wine feels pushed toward a more powerful style. In the finish, astringency from the tannins becomes evident. Pairing with pasta Bolognese and umami-driven dishes is recommended.
